About Young Writers’ Debut competitions

Young Writers’ Debut competitions by SHKP and Joint Publishing have helped 33 young authors get their first books in print since they started in 2006.

SHKP and Joint Publishing staged a fourth competition last year and it was open to mainland authors for the first time. Veteran Hong Kong and mainland creative professionals and writers were the judges and they gave promising authors individual coaching. After a year of hard work, the authors completed their first books that share the theme of ‘existence’. The books will debut at the Hong Kong Book Fair and be distributed in traditional Chinese characters in Hong Kong and simplified Chinese on the mainland.
