While we believe anyone can learn through reading, there are some who do not come by opportunities to embrace the written word easily. Read to Dream is one of the SHKP Reading Club’s flagship programmes, and it has benefitted over 10,000 primary and secondary school students since it began in 2008. It offers students from around the city book allowances and collaborates with St. James’ Settlement and volunteers to take them to annual Hong Kong Book Fairs. The students can buy books and participate in three days of celebrity seminars and creative workshop, giving them invaluable experience and inspiring them to pursue their dreams. Underprivileged children can now enter the world of books, give wings to their imaginations and learn more about the world.
